
Ingredients:-
Toor Dal – ½ cup
Vegetables – 1 cup (carrot, beans, potato, brinjal) as per your choice
Tamarind water – ¼ cup
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Sambar masala – 1 ½ tsp
Green chilies – 2
Red chilies – 2
Onion – 1
Tomato – 1
Mustard seeds – ¼ tsp
Channa dal – ¼ tsp
Urad dal – ¼ tsp
Coriander leaves – to garnish

Method:-
Wash and cook the dal separately and keep aside. Heat oil in a pan and once it is heated up add channa dal, urad dal and mustard seeds. Allow mustard seeds to splutter and then add onion and fry till it turns into translucent. Once it is done add red chilies, green chilies and fry for few minutes and add tomato and fry till it turns into soft and mushy. Once it is done add the vegetables and enough water to cook the vegetables. Then add sambar powder, turmeric powder, salt and cook for few minutes and then add tamarind water and cook for 2 minutes. Finally add cooked dal to the mixture and mix it well and garnish it with coriander leaves.
Note: - If you need you can add chili powder too.
