Palak Paneer

Spinach – 1 bunch

Paneer – 1 cup

Onion – 1

Tomato – 1

Green chili – 2

Chili powder – ½ tsp

Coriander powder – 1 tsp

Cumin powder – 1 tsp

Salt – to taste

Heavy cream – 3 Tsp (optional)

Ginger & garlic paste – 1 tsp

Cloves – 2

Cinnamon – 1’inch stick



Clean and wash spinach and immerse in boiling water for 2 minutes, mash it in a mixer and make a paste. Grind cloves and cinnamon and keep aside. Heat oil in a pan add cloves, cinnamon powder and fry for few minutes, then add onion and fry till it turns into light golden brown and then add tomato and fry till it becomes soft. Once it is done add turmeric, ginger & garlic paste, green chili and fry for few minutes. Then add all the spices and cook for 2 minutes. Once it is done add spinach paste, salt and cook till it oozes out the oil. Then add paneer pieces to the gravy and simmer it for few minutes. Finally add cream to the gravy and mix it well and serve hot with roti.

Optional: – You can fry paneer or you can add a fresh paneer.
