Vegetable Puff

It is the most popular snack in south India. There are many varieties in puffs like egg puff, mushroom, vegetable. The recipe here I am giving is for vegetable and for egg puff. You can serve this with ketchup.

Vegetable Puff

 Ingredients: –

Carrot – 1
Beans – 4
Peas – ¼ cup
Potato – 1
Coriander leaves – 2 springs
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Chili powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Garm masala – ½ tsp
Ginger & Garlic paste – 1 tsp
Salt – to taste
Oil – 2 tsp
Puff pastry sheet – 1
Onion – small size 1 (optional)


Cut into small pieces and cook all the vegetables and keep aside. Heat oil in a pan and once it is heated up add cumin seeds and allow it to splutter. Then add ginger & garlic paste and fry for 2 mins then add the vegetables, chili powder, coriander powder and salt. Fry till the masala smell goes, sprinkle some water (so that it will not be too dry) and finally add gram masala and garnish it with coriander leaves. Cut the puff pastry sheet into four equal parts and fill the masala equally in all the sheets. Finally seal the edges with water and fold the puff sheets. Try doing it for the remaining sheets and keep the pastry into fridge for 5 mins, so that we get a good result. Bake the puff in the oven temp 450 degree for 10 -15 mins or until it turns into brown. Remove from the oven and serve hot with the ketchup.
