Rava Kesari

Rava / sooji – ½ cup

Sugar – ¾ cup (depends upon your taste)

Ghee – ¼ cup + 2 tsp

Water – 1 ½ cup

Cashew – 6

Dry grapes / Raisin – 1 tsp

Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp

Kesari color Powder / Food color – a pinch




Heat 2 tsp of ghee and fry cashew, dry grapes and keep aside. Heat water, food color in a pan and allow this to boil. Once it started to boil add rava slowly, keep on stirring the mixture or else it forms into a ball. Keep stirring and add ghee and mix it well for 3 – 5 minutes. Keep stirring until the rava starts  leaving from the sides and add sugar and mix it well. Finally add cardamom, fried cashews and dry grapes and mix it well.


Note:  You can add more sugar or ghee its up to your taste.


          You can add also add Pineapple slices while cooking the rava.
