Pazham Pori (Plantain Fritters)

Pazham Pori is a sweet dish prepared with ripe plantain. It is very popular dish in kerala. This dish is been Prepared by my sister and it was very good.



Ripe plantain (Nendra Pazham) – 1

All- purpose flour/ Maida – 1 cup

sugar – 1/2 cup

Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp

salt – to taste

water – 1/2 cup

oil – to fry


Peel plantains, cut is two halves, and slice each halves into four to six slices. One plantain yielded 12 pieces and keeps this aside. Once it is done mix flour with ½ cup water to make a smooth batter, mix in sugar, turmeric, and salt. Then heat oil in a pan; dip plantain slices in batter and deep fry till golden brown. Drain and serve them.
