Sweet Pongal (Sarkarai Pongal)

Happy Pongal to Everyone!!!!

Ingredients:-

 

Raw rice – 1 cup

Granted Jaggery (vellam) – 1 ½ cup

Cashew nuts – 7 to 10

Dry Grapes – 7 to 10

Cardamom powder – a pinch

Ghee – as Required

Water – 2 cup to 2½

 

 

Method:-

 

Cook rice in a pressure cooker with excess water and keep aside. Heat ghee in a pan and fry cashew, dry grapes and keep aside. In the same pan ad little more ghee and add the cooked rice, img_30912

jaggery and mix it well (smash the rice). Once it is done add cashew, dry grapes, cardamom and mix it well. Finally add Ghee and serve hot.

 

Note:- Ghee is the main ingredients and gives more taste to the Pongal. So add more ghee.
