Chick Peas Sundal (Konda Kadalai Sundal)

Chick Peas – 1 cup

Onion – 1

Green chilies – 3 (to taste)

Turmeric powder – 1/8 tsp

Garlic – 1

Ginger – 1 inch

Salt – to taste

Oil – 1 tsp

Coriander leaves – to garnish


For seasoning:-


Channa dal – 1 ½ tsp

Urad dal – 1 tsp

Mustard seeds – ½ tsp

Curry leaves – 2 springs




Soak chick peas for 6 – 7 hrs or over night and cook it in a pressure cook and keep aside. Cut onion in small pieces and keep aside. Heat oil in a pan and once it is heated up add all the “seasoning ingredients” and fry for few minutes and then add onion and fry till it turns into translucent and then green chilies, ginger, garlic, and fry for few minutes. Once it is done add chick peas, turmeric powder sundal

and salt and mix it well. Finally garnish it with coriander leaves and serve.


Note: You can also grind: ginger, garlic, green chilies, coriander leaves and you mix it with chick peas and cook it.
