Chow Chow Mash

Ingredients:-
Chow chow – 1 cup
Small onion – 10 / big onion – 1/2 cup
Green chili – 3
Red chili – 2
Tamarind – a small piece
Urad dal – ½ tsp
Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Salt – to taste
Method:-
Heat oil in a pan and add urad dal, mustard seeds and allow it to splutter and then add onion, green chili and red chili. Once it is done add chow chow , turmeric and add cook till it becomes soft. Add very little water because the vegetable has water consistency by itself. Once it is done add tamarind and salt and mix it well. Finally grind this mixture using potato masher or spinach masher.
Note: – Don’t add salt in begining, as these vegetables will reduce in their quantity.
Don’t add tamarind water. Add full tamarind and mash it with masher.
